Every moment considered
Live Music Through Your Wedding Day
Guest Arrival & Ceremony
Create that unmistakable wedding ambience from the moment your guests arrive. Your musician sets the tone ahead of the ceremony, then works seamlessly with your celebrant to cue key moments such as the entrance, signing and recessional.
Canapés & Cocktails
Keep the atmosphere flowing while guests mingle and photos are taken. From timeless classics to modern favourites, live acoustic music creates a warm, sophisticated backdrop for cocktails and conversation.
One Seamless Full-Day Experience
Our full-day musician and DJ service brings every stage of your wedding together. We coordinate the entertainment from ceremony through to reception, supplying and operating the required sound, lighting and specialist equipment so the transition from live music to dinner and the dance floor feels effortless—leaving you free to enjoy the occasion.
Choose Wedding Musicians Who Feel Like You
Live music gives you so many ways to shape the mood of your wedding. An acoustic singer can make a favourite song feel intimate and personal, a pianist or violinist can add elegance and emotion, while a duo, string trio or string quartet can create a fuller, more immersive sound.
We’ll help you choose performers whose style fits your wedding, then tailor the music around the atmosphere you want to create — from romantic and timeless to modern, relaxed or upbeat.
Personally planned
Live music, with the details taken care of
Your wedding musicians can be booked on their own or alongside a Mix It DJ package. We confirm the performers, sound, timings and travel in one clear quote.
What we plan with you
- Your ceremony and reception locations
- Instrument or ensemble preferences
- Key songs and any special requests
- Set lengths, breaks and background music
- Celebrant, venue and DJ coordination
Availability is strongest in Auckland. Waiheke and other regions are confirmed by date, including travel and any accommodation requirements.

Violin, string trios & quartets
Strings can create a beautiful entrance, accompany the signing or provide a welcoming backdrop to drinks. Ensemble size changes the sound and the space needed, so we discuss the venue and your preferred music before recommending an option.
For the evening, saxophone can join your DJ for a different kind of live performance. We plan that separately around the dance floor and the saxophonist’s booked sets.
A wedding to remember
“The dance floor was non stop!”
“Wow! Jarrod and his saxophonist were absolute superstars. The music was the most important part of our day (other than the vows) and it didn’t disappoint. Jarrod’s timing was bang on and the dance floor was non stop! Thank you Mix It DJ for your professional/seamless service and unbeatable song choices. You were an absolute pleasure to deal with.”

Choosing your wedding musicians
Can we choose our ceremony songs?
Yes. Share your ideas early so the performer can confirm repertoire, arrangements and any preparation needed. We coordinate the final cues with your celebrant.
Can we book a string trio or quartet?
Yes, subject to availability. We confirm the ensemble, repertoire, performance area and sound requirements for your date and venue.
Can we book a musician without a DJ?
Yes. We plan the standalone performance, sound system and any background music needed between sets.
Are musicians available outside Auckland?
Options vary by region. Tell us your location and date so we can confirm suitable performers and travel, rather than assuming every instrument is available nationwide.
What do performers need outdoors?
A suitable covered performance space, agreed power access and a wet-weather alternative. We coordinate the practical requirements with your venue.
